"What a beautiful gem nested in the crest of the old city of Le Mans. Zilwa means the islander, and serves gorgeous, scrumptious, and well-balanced food. It was a joy to discover this restaurant."

"Our second time here - a reply amazing place! The Gojack (vegetable fritters) sharing platter to start had some really tasty new additions - cabbage and a pani puri - as well as the potato, aubergine and bread slices. Mains for us this time were Bol renversée (rice, chicken, fried egg and mushrooms), and Poulet mine (spiced noodles, vegetables, vhucken and some shrimp). The restaurant team explain everything, which sauces go best with which and warn you about hot chilli! (You can avoid this if you are not into spice). Desserts were tirsmusi with pineapple and the Mauricien flan - both delicious! And of course you must try the Mauricien rum.... Super friendly and charming team, one of the best restaurants in Le Mans!"

"What a great discovery. Strolling around looking for food we were becoming a tad disillusioned with the choice until my wife spotted this little restaurant with an interesting menu posted outside. The fact that it also started raining slightly at the same time possibly focussed our thinking as the restaurant is quite 'simple' - essentially, pleasantly unpretentious (we are in our 60s). But what a revelation. The food was, quite simply, exceptional and the service was both friendly and informative, particularly on some of the subtlety of the preparation, cooking and delivery. Immediately obvious to us that food appears to be a passion of all the staff. While the venue was quite quiet when we arrived it quickly got respectably busy as clearly those "in the know" arrived for a meal. In short, great food, great presentation and variety with engaging, professional and appreciative staff (of our comments)."

"Really lovely little restaurant with great food. Menu was fairly small but I'm guessing this is to ensure that all the plates are tried and tested, and they didn't disappoint. I'd never tried Mauritian food before so was pleasantly surprised! Only thing to note is a slightly longer waiting time so be prepared to invest in some good wine and company"
